Do you need your HVAC fixed?

Your current A/C unit will begin to wear away and grow less effective with time and continued use. And, while continued maintenance can help slow the aging process down, eventually, it will become just too old to work effectively for your home. This means it is not only harder to reach your desired temperature, but that more energy is required as well. At some point, it will be in your best interest to invest in a newer unit.

While many HVAC companies out there love to convince you to get their newest and most expensive items the moment there is an issue with your current A/C unit, that's not how we operate. For us, keeping your trust matters more than a quick buck. If you only need a repair, we'll tell you. If you actually do need a new unit, we'll tell you.

Even if you do require a replacement, we will be honest with you. Again, what good is pushing the most expensive option on you if it results in you not trusting us later? We have a host of differently priced models that will meet your needs to varying degrees.

Whichever unit you decide on, you'll know that it will be professionally installed and give you at least three years of comfort. That said, we always recommend getting an annual service and regular maintenance checkups to ensure everything is in tip-top shape and your unit can work at its best for as long as possible.

Should You Replace Your Old Air Conditioner?

Air conditioners, like most appliances, deteriorate with age. There's only so much you can do with an old A/C system before it starts having to work longer and harder to deliver the same cooling power as a newer system. Over time, this additional work adds more and more wear on the system and can cost you hundreds or thousands of extra dollars on your electricity bill.

If you've got an old air conditioner that's acting up, don't hesitate to give us a call. Our technicians are experts in the HVAC field and understand all of the ins and outs of both new and old systems alike. We'll be able to give you an honest assessment of your options and a genuine recommendation about what the best course of action is. If we can fix your A/C in just a few bucks, we will. We're not going to sell you a new system unless we think it would actually help.

When you decide it's time to upgrade, we've got you covered. Our techs can help you make an informed choice about the model of air conditioner that will best meet your needs. Installing an A/C system is a long, complicated process that must be done carefully in order to meet state and local building codes and protect your A/C warranty. If you'd like a trained and licensed professional to ensure that your A/C is installed properly, give us a call.

Why Do Air Conditioners Break?

There are a number of common problems that can contribute to your A/C no longer working properly. Here are some of the most basic issues that affect 90101 air conditioners:

Low Coolant: If your air conditioner doesn't have enough refrigerant, it'll have to work overtime to produce the same amount of cold air. A/C systems don't burn refrigerant, so if your system has low coolant that's often a sign of a leak or an issue at installation. It's important to check your refrigerant levels every once in a while to stop leaks early and avoid this problem.

Dirty Condenser Coils: The condenser coils are where the magic happens in your air conditioner. When they're caked with grime, dirt, and dust, this magic doesn't happen as effectively. Your condenser coils need to be relatively clean in order to allow your refrigerant to return to a liquid form and cool your home.

Blocked Drain Tube: As the evaporator coils work, they'll naturally accumulate a bit of liquid condensation from the air. In a working A/C, this water then drains into a drip pan and is carried away. If there's an issue with your air conditioner's drainage, however, this condensation can back up and ultimately reach the cold evaporator coils, causing them to become encased in ice and reducing your A/C's ability to do its job.

Bad Electrical Bits: Your A/C depends on electricity to run the compressor, power sensors, and perform a variety of other tasks. If there's an issue that prevents power from flowing in a steady stream to your compressor and fans, your A/C will have intermittent uptime at best. Any issues with capacitors, solenoids, sensors, or other internal components can also cause your A/C to work poorly or fail entirely. Luckily, many of these components can be replaced quickly and cost efficiently.
